OSTERVILLE VILLAGE
ASSOCIATION
“WE REPRESENT YOU”
During the past year The Osterville Village
Association has rallied around many issues to represent YOU
The Board of Directors spent considerable time,
financial resources and effort to enhance communication with members and Village
residents.
Three Ostervillage Record Newsletter were sent
to the membership.
An OVA Web site was created early in the year
and remained most current illustrating Annual Meeting Minutes, monthly Board
Meeting Minutes, Current Issues with letters from the President, a Village
Calendar and more.
The Board authored and submitted a Village
“Local Comprehensive Plan” to the Town to be used as a planning base. The Board
also provided testimony at the COMM Annual Meeting in favor of the proposed
Darby Warrant that favorably passed. The matter will next appear before the Town
Board which will also call for Board member representation as to enhance its
chance of passing.
Thirty-four percent of your contributions as
Members/Sponsors, some $7,800 plus, were directed to Robert J Smith, Jr.
Osterville Fund donations for support of specific Village enhancing projects;
recipients were: The Osterville Free Library, Armstrong Kelly Park, The
Osterville Historic Society and Osterville Elementary School.
 ….
The Association Directors have continued to dedicated effort to address resident’s issues in a balanced and forthright manner. The previous divisions between various fractions appear to be greatly diminished to points of
healthy debate. Positive common ground has been often found based on the fact
that we all want what is best for the Village.
Better Service and Representation to the
Community as well as heightened 2004 and 2005 Membership activities may have
aided in RECORD TOTALS of Members (710) and Sponsors (481) totaling 1191. Such
compares most favorably to last year end totals of 830.
Twenty-six percent of your contributions
($5,900) were budgeted for The Osterville Business and Professional Association
events, an independent OVA Standing Committee, to support the High School
Scholarship Fund, updating The Osterville Brochure, plus support for four
special village days: Art in Bloom, July Village Days, The Fall
Festival and The Christmas Stroll.
OSTERVILLE VILLAGE ASSOCIATION IS AS GOOD AS ITS
MEMBERSHIP. THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT
